Rat Control

Rodent Control Service

Rodents are mainly divided into 3 types ie.

Norway Rat (Rattus norvegicus): Also known as the brown rat, common rat, or sewer rat, the Norway rat is one of the most prevalent and destructive species of rats. It has a stocky body, brown or gray fur, and a blunt nose. Norway rats typically dwell in underground burrows, basements, sewers, and other dark, sheltered areas.

Roof Rat (Rattus rattus): Also referred to as the black rat or ship rat, the roof rat is slightly smaller than the Norway rat. It has a more slender body, black or dark brown fur, and a pointed nose. Roof rats are agile climbers and often inhabit higher areas such as ceilings, attics, trees, and upper levels of buildings.

House Mouse (Mus musculus): Although not a rat, house mice are another common rodent species found in urban and rural settings. They are smaller than rats, have relatively large ears, and are typically light brown or gray. House mice are known for their adaptability and ability to squeeze through small openings.

These rodents can pose health risks and cause damage to property. Understanding the differences between these species helps in identifying and implementing effective control measures for managing rodent infestations.

HOW DO WE HANDLE RODENTS

While rodents are known to be sneaky and resourceful, that should not deter you in anyway. We will inspect all of the common areas known for rodent infestation, including kitchens, bathrooms and bedroom spaces. Our trained professionals find their source, carry out reverse engineering on the movement of infestations and give a permanent solution to your troubles.

We control Rats by a systematic study of Rat behavior. Training of our personnel through audio-video medium as well as on the job training ensures that the very latest and the best in technology are used. Our Rat control operates on two levels:

Preventing future infestation

Elimination of existing Rats Prevention

Our best control is prevention, we place special emphasis on preventing reinfestation of your premises as chemicals can kill Rats. They cannot prevent them.

Rats can be prevented only mechanically. This can be done by closing all possible entry points, so that rats cannot enter the premises. If rats cannot be physically prevented reinfestation from surrounding areas may be frequent. In such cases we may be able to only minimize the population of Rats and may not be able to eradicate them.

Tahaan Pest Solutions Approach

1. Denial of entry point

A through inspection of your premises is done, Identification of entry point for rats is noted and then to be sealed off
Rats climbing through pipe in society is very common for which Rat-guards are installed on pipe
Rats get in through unplugged pipe holes. These should be completely sealed off.  Rat Guard Installation
These are galvanized and powder coated metal sheets that are fixed properly over the drainpipes. It does not let the rats climb over the drainpipes  and enter the premises to damage the valuable  goods that we have and contaminate our food.

2. Elimination Of Existing Rats

Method of Treatment

Rats are treated through two methods primarily baiting and trapping Rats are mainly of two types

  • Trapping

Rats can also be controlled using traps. There are different kinds of traps

Advantages:

There is no chance of a Rat dying in an inaccessible place from where it cannot be easily removed.

One can track level of rat infestation by rat caught in trap.

Glue Traps along with rodent box are used for trapping. The possibility of trapping a rat on a glue trap is higher because it does not rely on bait to attract rats. Rats are caught just by passing along their runways, which is their routine every night, step on the glue and get stuck.

  • Baiting

Anti-coagulant destroys Vitamin K in the body. This leads to internal haemorrhage and the rats die soon thereafter. This is safe for use as it is not harmful for humans and other mammals.

Pick up your phone and immediately call Tahaan Pest Solutions if you need an urgent Rat Control Treatment.

Field Rats:

Field rats stay in burrows in the ground. They are poor climbers and cannot climb with the help of the pipes to upper floors. They are controlled by fumigation of their burrows. The rats die and remain buried in the ground, without any problem of unpleasant odour and disposal of dead bodies.
